Good composition is about balancing forms, not about blindly sticking to rules. A conventional approach might have placed the doorway in the centre of the frame but by making the composition asymmetric I hoped to include tension and force the viewer to concentrate on the form, texture and decay rather than just see it as a "portrait" of a door.
