Into the Wild

Lone tree, Rannoch

The wider landscape – the vista – has a classical beauty. But I feel that true beauty often exhibits flaws. The stark, dead tree and bleak moorland in this image act as counterpoints to the distant, beautifully lit and snowclad mountains. The mournful quality of this foreground, serves to heighten the pure beauty of the mountains.
