Into the Wild

Last light, Yosemite Valley

I find that as I get older I make fewer images at the beginning or end of the day with direct light on the foreground, preferring to use the light bounced from the sky to colour this important part of the composition. I feel that the golden light of dawn and dusk can completely overpower a composition so that all one is left with is a feeling of amazing light but no particular feeling for the place.
