Into the Wild

Sierra Dawn

This was undoubtedly the coldest morning that I have made images, with the temperature around -19˚C, luckily it was still and so bearable. My normal instinct would have been to isolate the foreground detail but in this case I felt that it was important to place the clump of grass and its accompanying ridge of wind blown snow within a wider context in order to highlight its miraculous quality.
