Kolmanskop bandana

The Namibian sands are gradually reclaiming the abandoned mining town of Kolmanskop. It's a strange mixture of the forlorn and the grandiose, with the dead-eyed windows of once impressive mansions staring out across the collapsing ruins of the workers dormitories.

Walking around the ruins can make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end and the derelict Krankenhaus, with empty wards and examination rooms, is one of the spookier buildings. I noticed this skull bandana tied to the window latch, fluttering slightly in a fitful breeze and it seemed to fit the mood perfectly.
