Signs of Life

Maple leaf

Photography is a process of winnowing possibilities, of narrowing down to a satisfying solution. Each image presents a divergent problem, one without a single solution. When presented with a large area of fallen leaves, as I was here, one must simply work through as many possible solutions as time will allow and then settle on one that is usually a compromise. Sometimes, as here, it succeeds beyond ones expectations.
