The Colour of Light
We don't photograph the land, we photograph the light falling on the land and this has an almost infinite variety of moods. Not only can it be soft or harsh but also cool or warm. Whilst the former qualities are obvious the latter are not always apparent because human vision is relative, not absolute. We see colours in relation to each other not as they really are, unconsciously applying mental filters to every scene we view to correct for the different colour of light. But photography can remove the scales from our eyes and reveal more of nature's beauty by showing us the true colour of light.
